What Actually Drives School Band Uniform Cost
Schools comparing quotes often find the same specification priced very differently by different suppliers, and it is rarely arbitrary. Three factors account for almost all of the variation, and knowing them puts you in a much stronger position when you negotiate.
1. Fabric grade
This is the single biggest lever. Poly-viscose sits at the affordable end and works well in warm regions and for daily practice use. Gaberdine costs a little more and lasts noticeably longer in humid conditions. Terry wool blend is the premium option, used for formal winter parades in the north, and carries the highest cost. A supplier quoting far below everyone else is usually quoting a lighter fabric — always ask which one before comparing numbers.
2. Embroidery work
Embroidery is priced by stitch count, not by piece. A school name stitched on the chest is quick. A full crest with multiple thread colours, a motto and house-colour piping can take many times longer per unit. Moving from name-only to full crest work is typically the difference between the bottom and middle of our range.
3. Order quantity
Cutting and setup costs are fixed regardless of batch size, so they spread across the order. A 200-set order carries far less setup cost per unit than a 30-set order of the same specification. This is why our per-set rate improves above 50 sets and again above 100 — not as a discount tactic, but because the actual production cost genuinely falls.
What to ask any supplier before comparing quotes
- Which fabric, specifically — not just "premium quality"
- What embroidery is included at that rate
- Whether cap, belt, gloves and shoes are in the price or extra
- Whether the rate is before or after GST
- Whether they manufacture or resell — resellers add a margin on top of a factory rate
We manufacture in-house, which is why we can publish rates at all. Most suppliers quoting school bands are buying from a factory and marking up, which is precisely why they will not put a number on a webpage.

School band uniform sets start at ₹1,299 per set for the Essential configuration and go up to ₹3,499 per set for the Complete set with full accessories. Final pricing depends on fabric, embroidery and order quantity.
The Essential set covers the jacket and trouser or skirt with your school name embroidered. Caps, belts, gloves and shoes are added in the higher configurations.

Three things move the price: fabric grade, how much embroidery you need, and order quantity. A 200-set order in poly-viscose with name-only embroidery sits near the bottom of the range; a 30-set order in terry wool with full crest work sits near the top.
